Year Two University Project
Queen of the Hill
“A resource management choice focused game with a blend of horror and comedic visuals.”
Queen of the Hill was a year two university project that took place over three months and developed in a team of four. Our class had previously pitched game ideas in semester one with the intent for others to then develop them into working vertical slices by the end of the semester two.
Queen of the Hill was a text based strategy game in which the player convinces a colony of ants to worship them as their new god and amass a cult following.
All of the programming was handled in Godot, working closely with the head UX Designer and Artist of the project. Despite crafted as a digital design, the original design document outlined its initial inspirations to be that of a board game. So a lot of developmental research focused around how to best convey those values in the final project.
